We want our family, especially our children to grow up in an environment where they can pick berries on a walk, harvest eggs from the hens, pick herbs off the porch, and veggies from the garden. Our goal has always been to serve our community. Any excess food we produce will be donated to the local food bank. Our hope is to inspire others to create their own gardens that benefit both their family and their community.
We purchased the farm in 2021 from a multi-generation farm family. With history back to the early '40s of food and resource harvesting here. We have no plans of stopping that, only improving on the practices through no-till gardening, rotational grazing, and perennial plant systems.
Colin -
Your main point of contact with any bookings! Colin will be helping with website navigation, managing your booking, and any information to help your stay be memorable. He grew up in Kent, WA, and quickly became interested in outdoor activities. It started out as hiking and grew into backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing and even surfing. He achieved a bachelor's degree from San Diego State in Outdoor Resource Management and a master's from Colorado State in Tourism management. His background and education in recreation and hospitality will ensure you have an unforgettable farm-stay experience.
Colin works full-time making Cold Brew Coffee in Seattle and part-time as a naturalist / interpretive guide to our National Parks. He will be able to answer any questions you have about local activities! While not working he can be found tending to his personal garden or out in the mountains. He will occasionally stop by the farm to work on the master plan. Through planting native plants, managing tree removal, spreading mulch, or planting food forests, he wants to ensure a healthy and productive food ecosystem for everyone!
Diane -
The blood, sweat, and tears of the farm and rentals. She works tirelessly every single day to ensure the property is up to your standards. None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for Diane's hard work and passion for making a change in this world. She grew up in Michigan but moved to Washington to start a new life. After building a career in benefits in Seattle, she began to crave more. After trial and tribulation, she moved out to Buckley to enjoy a quiet life surrounded by nature. She wants everyone else to enjoy the peace that can be found on the farm.
Diane will be cleaning the house and ensuring everything is ready to go for your check-in. While she isn't cleaning she can be found playing with an extremely high-energy Australian Shepard. Which, you might end up meeting if you look too friendly in his direction! Daine will be the first one there if any problem arises and will quickly mitigate the issue. She is the real reason everything gets done and we are able to host so many wonderful guests!
Bret -
An up-and-coming future short-term rental host! He is currently learning the ins and outs of rentals while helping tremendously on the back end. He is always on top of the new technology that helps your stays get easier and easier. Any new trend or update can be traced back to Bret giving the idea or putting it into action. He can also be found helping clean or message guests who have a late-night check-in.
While Bret is finding his place in short-term rentals, and starting to build his own career path, he can be found buzzing around in an electric car delivering food from the nearby city of Bonney Lake. He was adamant about getting an electric car before he would start driving anywhere and is currently working hard to pay it off! While not driving quietly around he enjoys working out and going mushroom hunting in the woods.
